Every teammate, whether part of the management team or a technician just beginning a career, has access to learning opportunities and educational support. We are committed to providing all teammates with ongoing training and professional development activities to ensure they are up-to-date with latest technologies and store operation procedures. This allows our teammates to grow their careers and advance within the company.
Many of our award-winning education programs are lecture-based, with hands-on and classroom instruction. Others are core components of a comprehensive, in-store education resource library of self-paced, self-study, video supported courses and written reference materials. Because the continued professional development of our teammates is a top priority at Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC, our management courses are designed to prepare teammates for their ultimate goal of store management and beyond.

Many of our education programs are lecture-based, with hands-on and classroom instruction. Others are core components of a comprehensive, in-store education resource library of self-paced, self-study, video supported courses and written reference materials. All technical education is ASE-preparatory, and ASE certification is rewarded with a bonus payment. An extensive, ongoing offering of supplier and vendor education is also available.

A self-paced, self-study guide designed to inform new teammates of safe and efficient methods for performing basic vehicle services.
The Education Catalog assists store teammates in selecting education materials and workshops, which best meet their needs and goals.
"You Auto Know" is a self-paced, self-study, video-supported guide to basic automotive service procedures. Areas discussed include vehicle racking, tire and wheel services, oil change procedures, suspension/steering systems and batteries. By completing this basic training all store teammates are better prepared to perform daily tasks more safely and efficiently.
Certified For Excellence is an award-winning series of six video-based, self-study certification programs:
- Maintenance Service
- Steering/Suspension/Alignment
- Brakes
- Heating/Cooling/Air Conditioning
- Starting/Charging
- Engine Performance
After completion of the Certified for Excellence - Level 1 programs, teammates become eligible for Certified For Excellence - Level 2. These are advanced, self-paced, self-study, technical courses concentrating on the following topics:
- Fundamentals of Anti-Lock Brakes
- Modern Heating & Air Conditioning Systems
- Electronic Engine Management Systems
- Strategies of Exhaust & Emission Control
The Service Manager - Level 3 is designed specifically for accomplished technicians who: 1) have completed all previous education requirements; 2) are ASE-certified in each required area; and 3) have been elevated to the Service Manager position. Specific advanced factory technical education courses, combined with management-skills-building workshops, provide a minimum of 120 hours of education annually. Course selections focus on current industry education needs geared to the advanced learning level.
Specialized technical education is available through suppliers/vendors and other recognized automotive experts. These courses are often supported by videos and printed reference materials, or are instructor-led and accompanied by hands-on education activities. The education catalog lists all courses available, ranging from basic entry-level information to advanced technical instruction.
